Default Why haven't Greens lowered the value of Golds?

I've been following prices pretty closely and am baffled why the introduction of Green items haven't lowered the value of some of the Gold stuff.

For example, for a Hammer Warrior / Monk, it doesn't get much better than the lowly Bludgeoner. Yet I can buy one of those for 4k. But the +30 mod alone from a salvaged gold hammer goes for more than that. Why in the world would anyone pay more than 10k for any gold hammer ever?

Are the reasons that Golds remain high purely psychological? Is it the "I've got something that you don't" syndrome?

Because gold drops and salvage are so bullshit random that they'll
keep their value simply because of how much of a pain it is to get the
comps and mods out of them.

There are a few reasons i feel.
1. Firstly yes, you could say its psychological, a gold makes people feel happier because it is rarer.
2. Because Gold items are rarer, they are more sort after.
3. Skins. Greens only include a few.
4. You cant change green mods, and there may not be one that fits your desires.
5. You cant get a green item with lower req than 9, so req 7-8 golds will still be more popular.

Well those are my 2 cents, im sure others have opinions...

and most players have thier wealth in gold items so they wont let the price drop and have their wealth become nothin.
they play tag with eachothers items and bid and buy the items to keep the value of gold items up.

just my 2cents.

Greens have lowered the value of golds tremendously. Most items have dropped in value 50-80%, and imperfect items have become virtually worthless. The price of weapon mods has been but done 2/3 of what it once was, and Storm Bows/Chaos axes have dropped to nearly have of their former price. The few things that ahve retained their value are: Brute swords, crystalline swords, Sickles (high dmg), Tribal axes, and serpent axes.
